The former nurse, 35, is on trial for killing her three children, Cora, five, Dawson, three, and eight-month-old Callan, at her home in Duxbury, Massachusetts, in January 2023. On Monday, jurors heard how Clancy's psychiatrist Dr Jennifer Tufts increased the dosage of her medication just one day before she strangled her children to death at their family home in Duxbury. Tufts admitted that all 14 appointments she had with Clancy between September 2022 and January 2023 were telehealth - meaning they were over Zoom. She had never seen Clancy face-to-face until she took the stand to testify. Around 24 hours after their final appointment, Clancy killed her three children by strangling them with exercise bands before attempting suicide.  Clancy's suicide attempt failed but left her paralyzed and in a wheelchair for life. She has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity, citing postpartum psychosis, and is also suing her former healthcare providers for medical malpractice and negligence. This morning, Nurse Julie Paul is expected to return to the stand to be cross-examined by Clancy’s defense attorney Kevin Reddington. Paul is a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner who also briefly treated Clancy in November 2022 - two months before the killings. She ran a postpartum program and connected with Clancy through Patrick’s mother Sue Clancy, who was also a nurse. Clancy was struggling with anxiety and racing thoughts. But her main issue was that she could not sleep, Paul said. On November 21, 2022, Paul first prescribed Clancy Prozac. A few days later, she prescribed her Ambien, Remeron and Klonopin. In late-November, Paul was relocating to another hospital so transferred Clancy’s care to another nurse. At that time, Clancy was also in the care of Dr Jennifer Tufts - who faced a grilling from Reddington on Monday about her experience and the quality of her treatment of Clancy in the four months leading up to the killings.
