Lehigh sets NCAA record with 20 runs in first inning of 38-6 win
Nothing seemed out of the ordinary at the start of Lehigh’s game Tuesday at Coppin State in Hanover, Md. Max Dantoni, the Mountain Hawks’ leadoff hitter, was hit by a pitch on a full count. Not exactly commonplace, but definitely not rare — especially for a midweek college baseball game. But what followed was far from ordinary. Nineteen of Lehigh’s next 20 batters reached base, including 11 by walks and six by hit-by-pitches. Sprinkled in there were also three base hits — a double, a single and a grand slam.Advertisementالمصدر: The Athletic | Source: The Athletic
