The 27-year-old left-back was struggling in the latter stages of Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final loss to Chelsea. The Sweden international stayed on the field but was unable to run or accurately pass to any team-mates. Manager Daniel Farke indicated it was a hamstring issue at Wembley, but speaking to reporters on Wednesday, he confirmed how long he may be without Gudmundsson in his press conference before the home game against Burnley on Friday. Not only will Gudmundsson be absent for that game but the trip to north London to face Tottenham Hotspur on May 11 is also expected to come too soon. “Yes, (it’s a) hamstring injury,” Farke said. “It’s also a bit of a serious injury. (He) will definitely miss the game on Friday and also, as it stands, the Tottenham game. Then we have to see. “We (will) try to bring him back as quickly as possible, especially at this stage of the season. I hope he can feature in one of the last two games, but, as it stands, (for) the next two games, we will have to play without him.” Gudmundsson joined Leeds from Lille last summer and has had an impressive debut season. Whether deployed at left-wing back or left-back, he has established himself as a dependable performer in Farke’s side, and 31 of his 32 Premier League appearances have been starts. Noah Okafor and Jaka Bijol are doubts for the home game against already-relegated Burnley, while Ilia Gruev has already been ruled out for the rest of the season with a meniscus injury. Farke flagged a contact injury on the former’s calf and a hip issue for the latter. Slovenia international Bijol was substituted at half-time on Sunday. “There are, after the last game in the cup, one or two question marks,” Farke continued. “Noah Okafor got a hit against his calf. There is a little question mark behind his availability. “Also, Jaka Bijol was dealing with some problems with his hip flexor. I hope to have them both available, but I can’t tell you right now if it’s possible.” Okafor, who joined Leeds in a deal worth £18million (€20.8m, $24.3m) last summer, has scored three goals and one assist in his last three Premier League outings.
