Leeds' Ilia Gruev out for rest of season with meniscus injury

Leeds United midfielder Ilia Gruev has been ruled out for the rest of the season after suffering a meniscus injury in training.The Bulgaria international was absent from Wednesday’s 2-2 draw with Bournemouth in the Premier League and manager Daniel Farke confirmed on Thursday his season is over.Gruev, 25, had not been in the starting line-up since March 3, but has always been a trusted lieutenant for Farke in the engine room. The manager hopes to have him back for the start of pre-season, while right-back Jayden Bogle has a chance of shaking off the knock he picked up in Dorset last night.Advertisement
