المصدر: GB News | Source: GB NewsAdam Collard's father has been charged with allegedly assaulting his son, with the wealthy property developer due to stand trial later this summer.
The 56-year-old has been charged with assault by beating following an incident that took place in Newcastle during September last year.
A Crown Prosecution Service spokesperson confirmed the charge, with the court verifying that Adam was named as the alleged victim in the case.
William Collard, known as Billy, is scheduled to appear before Newcastle Magistrates Court on August 7 for trial.

Adam is currently engaged to ITV sports presenter Laura Woods, and the pair are awaiting the arrival of their second child together.
Billy has allegedly amassed a fortune of approximately £3million through his property portfolio, which generates an estimated £140,000 annually, according to the Daily Mail.
The 56-year-old resides in a substantial farmhouse valued at around £364,000 in the affluent Northumberland village of Horsley.
Billy has encountered legal difficulties in the past.
In 2008, he pleaded guilty at Newcastle Crown Court to fraudulently claiming nearly £6,000 in housing benefits over nine months, citing a sleep disorder as preventing him from working.
He received a two-year conditional discharge and was ordered to pay £2,000 in court costs, while also repaying the dishonestly obtained funds.
A decade later, HMRC confiscated £44,000 from him under the Proceeds of Crime Act in March 2019, though this sum was subsequently returned following a successful appeal.

Despite the pending criminal case, Adam has historically spoken warmly about his father in public.
The reality television star has previously described Billy as "the coolest, most inspiring and generous guy I know."
The father and son have been known to share a close bond, with Billy at one point using a photograph of them together as his Facebook profile picture.
Adam once recounted how his father initially expelled him from the family home for getting a tattoo as a teenager, only for Billy to later return from a trip to Las Vegas sporting a half-sleeve of his own.
"He said: 'I'm 45 I know what I am doing'," Adam recalled of his father's justification.
Billy also has a daughter, making him a father of two.
Adam first rose to prominence when he appeared on the fourth series of Love Island in 2018, before making a return to the villa for series eight in 2022.
He has also taken part in Celebrity SAS during his television career.
Following a period on Celebs Go Dating, Adam began a relationship with Ms Woods in October 2023.
The couple announced they were expecting their first child in July 2024.
Two months later, Adam proposed to the sports presenter on a beach in St Ives, Cornwall, and she accepted.
Ms Woods, who is highly regarded in her field, is presently in the United States covering the World Cup for ITV.
