Lamine Yamal's £9.5million Barcelona property has been the victim of an attempted robbery after Spain beat France to reach the World Cup final.

The Spanish winger earned a penalty during his side's impressive 2-0 semi-final triumph over France, with his girlfriend, Ines Garcia Santos, celebrating from the stands.

However, back at his home, two individuals wearing hoods were seen perched on a wall surrounding his property on the outskirts of Barcelona.

The intruders fled the scene after the footballer's private security team activated emergency protocols upon detecting them on surveillance cameras.

Catalan police later arrived at the address and have since opened an investigation into attempted robbery with force.

Officers obtained images of the suspects captured by the property's cameras, with the Criminal Investigation Division now examining CCTV footage to establish their identities.

The mansion was previously the home of former Barcelona defender Gerard Pique and pop star Shakira prior to their separation in 2022.

Yamal had showcased the property in a video tour filmed before his departure for the World Cup tournament.

The attempted break-in follows a concerning pattern affecting Barcelona players, with two of Yamal's team-mates falling victim to burglaries in February.

Defender Pau Cubarsi had an expensive watch taken from him, while days later thieves stole cash and jewellery from goalkeeper Joan Garcia's residence.
