Coronation Street’s Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances-Brown) should come with a health warning. Although let’s face it, DC Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) probably wouldn’t read it.
The Cobbles copper has found himself in serious hot water recently thanks to his choice in women – namely Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien), who’s fresh in the slammer for the murder of Theo Silverton (James Cartwright) despite his best efforts to help her evade justice.
Kit did all he could to try and make evidence that linked Sarah to killing the rampant domestic abuser disappear, but he was none too pleased to discover that on the fateful night when Theo died, it was her ex Gary Windass (Mikey North) that Sarah called for help. Way to make a guy feel special, Sarah.
With Sarah doing Orange Is The New Platt for the forseeable future, her relationship with Kit has fallen apart. It’s probably for the best. After all, could Kit do any worse than a jailbird?
Enter Jodie.
The woman only moved to Coronation Street this year, and already her very name is synonymous with elaborate schemes, bizarre motives and Fatal Attractions style fun.
Not only did she try and fail to sabotage her half-sister Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) by trying (and failing) to seduce David Platt (Jack P Shepherd), but she’s responsible for assaulting Sarah to stop her from uncovering her creepy box of stolen trinkets… or which also contained a gun, by the way.
Given how Sarah’s already shared that fact with Kit, you would think the unhinged Miss Ramsey would be the last person that Kit would go for.
Think again.
In upcoming episodes, Kit is proposition by the bunny-boiling baddy herself. Come on, Kit. There’s still time to run.
With David away, Shona struggles to soothe Harper and is short with Lily (Grace Ashcroft-Gardner), while Jodie interferes.
As Jodie litter picks, she overhears Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) arranging a date. Jodie makes a scathing remark but Bethany puts her in her place.
Smarting, Jodie suggests to Kit they should go on a date and promises him the time of his life. Will Kit agree?
Bethany meets up with a date, Roman, in the bistro and they raise a toast to a successful second date without drama.
Looks like they spoke too soon, when when Jodie enters with Kit.
Bethany’s good mood evaporates as she explains that her Mum is in prison and only broke up with Kit a few weeks ago.
As Jodie flirts with Kit, Bethany loses her temper. Bethany warns Kit that Jodie’s toxic and he should steer clear.
As Bethany goes, Jodie invites Kit back for a nightcap. Will Kit agree?
Later that week, Jodie adds to Shona’s stress by hiding her car keys, smiling to herself, Jodie sends Kit a message asking to hang out.
Shona calls David about her nightmare day, then suddenly realises she’s left Harper in the car. In a blind panic, she dashes outside to find Daniel cradling Harper.
Jodie orders Shona to get some sleep and invites Kit round as she looks after Harper. Shona comes back downstairs to find Jodie and Kit enjoying a glass of wine.
Parking herself on the sofa, she warns Kit that a relationship with her sister is possibly his worst idea ever. Will Kit listen?
