Published: 15:43, 13 July 2026 | Updated: 15:53, 13 July 2026 TV presenter Kirstie Allsop has told the Daily Mail she was on 'cloud nine' after being given a ticket by the FA to watch England beat Norway 2-1 in the nail-biting quarter-final. Location, Location, Location star Kirstie managed to bag a seat right in front of Sir David Beckham and his family after being given a last-minute ticket by football chiefs for the Miami match. Trolls on social media had criticised her for taking 'an ordinary fan's ticket' at what has been dubbed the rip of the World Cup. After posting about getting the ticket one mean spirited follower said: 'I have to say poor post, gloating over getting a ticket just because famous, probably never been to a game in your life where you have had to pay. 'Stealing the chance for a genuine fan to watch. Pretty shameful really.' While another wrote disparagingly: 'What a p*** take. You couldn't probably name 3 players.' Another critic said: 'Suddenly she can’t wait to be surrounded by football fans 'Would she be at Slovenia for a qualifier? No, but look at me, I’ve a few quid from mummy n daddy.' Kirstie bagged some of the best seats in the house, right in front of David Beckham at the England vs Norway game Despite trolling online from fans who believe she didn't deserve the ticket, Kirstie said her love of football came from meeting the late Sir Bobby Robson While a further troll added: 'That's the problem with this World Cup. Normal fans are completely priced out of it, whilst cretins off TV who couldn't care for football the other 364 days of the year can afford to go.' But Kirstie, 54, she insisted: 'I was invited there as a guest and I was very, very lucky. It was magical, it really was.  'Oh my God! It was just absolutely amazing. I have to say though, that level of tension is not good for anyone. This was my first international game, and it was a fantastic experience.' Kirstie said her love of football came from meeting the late Sir Bobby Robson, when he was touring India while manager of Dutch giants PSV and she was teaching English in India with her best friend Claire. She said: 'The manager of the local hotel asked us to entertain some footballers, and it was just a few months after the Italy World Cup and he and his players were absolute gentlemen.' Describing Saturday night's win, she said: 'That meeting sparked my love of international football, but I had never been to an international match and what a magnificent one to start off with. 'I've watched matches on the television, but watching it in the stadium was a totally new experience. The combined chemistry of all those people feeling the same way you do, the tension, the anxiety, it was magical. 'I was just so lucky to be there, so, so fortunate and I am very, very grateful to the FA for inviting me to be their guest – and to be sat just in front of David Beckham was an added bonus as well.' Kirstie explained that she had been at her holiday home in the Bahamas, watching England's dramatic 3-2 round of 16 win over Mexico in the in Azteca stadium and 'just had to be in Miami'. She added: 'I stood up and my family thought I was mad. I said, "I have to go, I have to be there," I thought even if it's in the fan zone, I don't care, so long as I'm there, even if I'm in the street, I just wanted to experience that passion. 'I just had this determination to be there so I bought a plane ticket, booked a hotel and I am very lucky to have a friend who is on the board of the FA, and he said would you like to come as my guest. I said, "You are kidding me?" and thankfully he wasn't.' A still buzzing Kirstie told the Daily Mail she was a guest of Debbie Hewett, the FA's first woman president, and who is also a FIFA vice president, as well as being a lifelong Liverpool fan. She added: 'Debbie is the most fascinating woman, extraordinary, so committed and so interesting, and that was an immense privilege. 'When you meet someone who, is in reality responsible for the happiness of the whole entire nation, then that really is quite something. 'The FA are an amazing organisation and do so much behind the scenes and to be part of the Miami match was such a brilliant moment – and there was a bit of glamour as I was right in front of the Beckhams, which was great. 'They were in an air-conditioned box, but I was in the stands sweating like everyone else and I had to take a double take when I turned round and saw David Beckham and his family behind me.' Kirstie added:'I wore my lucky Victoria Beckham lipstick, the whole way through and it was so hot, we were all feeling the heat, so you had a feeling of what the players were going through. 'I couldn't believe how many Norwegians were there; there must have been around 8,000 and there are 5 million in the country. 'After the game I went home and watched the Argentina - Switzerland game and I have a soft spot for the Swiss and when they equalised, I was so excited, but it didn't happen and so now it's Argentina in the semi-final. 'I won't be going to this one, but we just need to get this game out of the system now, and if we get to the final I may see if I can get to New York just to be in the city, the tickets are just so incredibly expensive and impossible to get hold of. 'But I was incredibly lucky to have been at the Norway game and in life if that's what you are dealt then I am a firm believer in you accept it and are grateful for it. 'I had it, I went to this game, and it was so magical, but I don't necessarily think it's going to happen again. 'I am still just zipping along; I'm back in the Bahamas and still living off what a phenomenal experience it was. 'They are a fantastic team, they all pull together and all the parts work as one, I know people go on about Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham and of course they are stars, but the others are integral as well.' Upbeat Kirstie added:' I really do think they can go all the way, I know they can, I don't think Argentina are as strong as everyone thinks, Switzerland almost took them to penalties. 'I am not an expert, but I listen to those who are and a lot of people say we are the only ones who can beat France, who I think will get to the final. 'We have the mentality to do it and the whole country is behind them. Come on England!'
