King Charles picks up special gift for Princess Charlotte in Northern Ireland
King Charles chose a thoughtful souvenir for his eldest granddaughter while visiting Belfast yesterday.
The 77-year-old monarch, accompanied by Queen Camilla, stopped at W5 LIFE at Odyssey Place, a 20,000 square foot digital learning centre, where he encountered young entrepreneurs backed by the King's Trust.
Rachel Rose, founder of jewellery enterprise Empower Flower, presented His Majesty with a handcrafted beaded bag charm intended for Princess Charlotte.
"Thank you, she will love that," the King responded warmly.
Mrs Rose explained her motivation: "I wanted to give back after experiencing some dark times myself. I'm trying to encourage people to come off their phones and use their hands to create some magic."
The bond between grandfather and granddaughter runs deep, according to those familiar with the royal household.
Royal biographer Robert Jobson told Hello earlier this month that Charlotte "enjoys a close relationship" with the King.
"He totally adores her," Mr Jobson stated. "She loves it when he reads to her in his funny voices."

The young princess, now 11, affectionately refers to His Majesty as "Grandpa Wales."
Royal author Ingrid Seward has also spoken of their connection, telling People that Charles "once wanted a daughter" and likely maintains "a very nice relationship with his granddaughter."
Grandfather and granddaughter are also said to share a mutual appreciation for ballet.
Charlotte has developed a fondness for crafting friendship bracelets, a trend popularised by Taylor Swift fans.

Prince William revealed during a South Africa visit in November 2024 that his daughter made him a "Papa" bracelet at a Swift concert.
"She gave it to me when I came away. So I promised that I'd wear it and try not to lose while I was out here," the Prince of Wales explained.
The King himself was spotted wearing a red and yellow friendship bracelet as he departed the State Opening of Parliament in July 2024, remarkably similar in style to accessories Charlotte had worn days earlier.
Charlotte is anticipated to make her next public appearance at Trooping the Colour on Saturday, June 13, joining the Royal Family for the King's official birthday parade.
A palace insider previously described the young princess as "a natural" who has "taken to royal events like a duck to water."
The King maintains warm relationships with all three Wales children, including Prince George, 12, and Prince Louis, eight.
However, he was regrettably unable to attend Charlotte's 11th birthday celebrations on May 2, as he was concluding his State Visit to Bermuda at the time.
