Killer nurse Lindsay Clancy speaks on record at murder trial to agree compromise that will make prosecution's case more straightforward

The former nurse, 35, is on trial for killing her three children, Cora, five, Dawson, three, and eight-month-old Callan, at her home in Duxbury, Massachusetts, in January 2023. She then apparently attempted to kill herself by jumping out of her second-story window, and was left paralyzed and in a wheelchair for life. Clancy does not deny killing her children, but has pleaded not guilty and claimed she is not responsible for her actions because she was suffering post-partum psychosis. On Tuesday, the trial began with Clancy making the rare move to address the court and agree to certain facts laid out by the prosecution. Judge William Sullivan asked Clancy a series of questions about the facts and the agreement, to which Clancy repeatedly responded, 'Yes, your honor.' Clancy's lawyer, Kevin Reddington, said the stipulation is in regard to several pieces of evidence and to help alleviate the government from having to call dozens of witnesses. 'This stipulation basically relieves the government of having to bring in dozens if not more of witnesses to prove chain of custody of blood, fluids, the bands, DNA, all of that, rather than have days of testimony. This stipulation is to avoid that,' Reddington said. Jurors heard Patrick's harrowing 911 call the night he discovered their dead children, which brought the courtroom to tears. Clancy has broken down several times during the trial as doctors have described her children's injuries.  Prosecutors are arguing that the killings were intentional and well planned, not the work of someone who had lost control.   On the day of the killings, Clancy asked Patrick to leave their home to get takeout food and to pick up something at a pharmacy.  Clancy allegedly strangled the children with exercise bands, then used multiple methods to try to end her own life. On cross-examination by Reddington, the psychiatrist conceded that Clancy was an 'honest patient.'  Reddington asked Shah: 'Was she, in your opinion and your experience, an honest patient telling you what her symptoms were, if any?' 'She didn't go off and try to exaggerate to you and say, "I'm seeing visions, and I'm hearing voices," and suicidal ideation and homicidal ideas. She didn't say any of those things to you, did she?' Reddington said. The defense attorney doubled down asking, 'So this is not, in your opinion, someone who was trying to exaggerate her conditions for some legal reason, correct?'
