Keely Hodgkinson takes leaf out of Emma Raducanu's book with huge new deal agreed

Middle-distance superstar Keely Hodgkinson is poised for a financial windfall after joining a new agency. It comes less than two years after the Olympic triumph which led to the Mancunian being crowned Sports Personality of the Year in 2024 . Hodgkinson is now part of an elite roster of sporting talent represented by WME Sports after signing with the agency. Fellow British stars Emma Raducanu and Lewis Hamilton are amongst its biggest sporting clients, alongside two-time Wimbledon champion Carlos Alcaraz. Her company Runway Pro - established following the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 - saw its assets rise to £1.3million in 2025. This remains dwarfed by 2021 US Open champion Raducanu's earnings. The tennis star's Harbour 6 company recorded profits of £9.6m in the year ending March 2023, with the figure subsequently climbing even higher. As reported by SportsPro , Hodgkinson is already believed to earn approximately £1m annually through various endorsement agreements. Beyond serving as a Nike ambassador in the UK, she also represents Avene, Omega and Vitality. When it comes to sporting achievements, Hodgkinson has few equals over 800m despite suffering injury setbacks along the way. Having claimed silver in Tokyo before securing two European titles, the Manchester-based runner clinched her first Olympic gold in Paris in 2024. After a stop-start 2025, she has been back to her best in the 2026 indoor season and shaved a second off the 800m world indoor record before coasting to gold at the World Indoor Championships in Torun. The outdoor 800m world record remains the longest-standing mark in athletics — with nobody able to surpass the 1:53.28 set by Jarmila Kratochvilova in 1983 — but Hodgkinson has firmly set her sights on it. "I am so excited to build on this, my word for this year was domination, I want global domination and this is a great way to start," she said following her World Indoor gold. "We have a very exciting summer with the European Championships and everything else. "I have said for the last couple of years that breaking the world record is possible and I wouldn't have said that if I didn't have evidence in training or seen things where I'm like, 'Yeah, I can do it.' A lot has to come together for that to happen and there is no timeframe in when or where or whatever." Hodgkinson's 800m personal best of 1:54.61 makes her the fastest ever British woman over the distance. She is the sixth-fastest woman of all time and the third-quickest in the 21st century, with only Pamela Jelimo and Caster Semenya posting better times during the Team GB star's lifetime.
