In Karachi, the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi hosted a ceremony celebrating the life and work of US-based poet Dr Noor Amrohvi, recognising his contributions to literature and cross-cultural engagement. The event, held at Haseena Moin Hall in collaboration with Sakinan-e-Shehr-e-Quaid, brought together literary figures, community leaders, and admirers. Muhammad Ahmed Shah attended as chief guest, while Khalid Irfan presided over the ceremony. Presenting a commemorative shield, Mr Shah described Amroha as a historic centre of artistic and intellectual excellence. He praised Dr Amrohvi as a "multidimensional personality" who has successfully balanced spiritual depth with worldly engagement, adding that literary communities across the world are bound by shared knowledge and awareness. In his presidential address, Khalid Irfan highlighted the poet's efforts to promote harmony, particularly through organising mushairas that bring together Indian and Pakistani communities in the United States. He noted that Dr Amrohvi has been hosting major annual literary gatherings, including an international mushaira and a long-running naat recitation event. Speakers including Dr Ambreen Haseeb Amber, Mahmood Ahmed Khan, Rizwan Siddiqui, Junaid Iqbal, Tariq Sabzwari, and Dr Auj-e-Kamal paid tribute to the poet's literary achievements and his role in promoting Urdu abroad. Dr Amber emphasised that his poetry reflects themes of migration and emotional connection, particularly a mother's love, while others described him as a "complete personality" dedicated to spreading knowledge and cultural values. In his remarks, Dr Noor Amrohvi thanked the organisers and attendees, saying his work has always been rooted in love. "We are ambassadors of love," he said, "and that is our true identity and greatest asset, which we strive to spread across the world."
