Nussmeier was chosen with the 249th pick and was the ninth quarterback taken in the draft.Nussmeier, who backed up Jayden Daniels for two seasons before taking over as LSU’s starter, had his best year as a redshirt junior. In 2024, he threw for 4,052 yards and 29 touchdowns and received some NFL Draft buzz but opted to return to school for his senior season, which fell far below expectations and was marred by a preseason abdominal injury that lingered throughout the year.Advertisement
