The country star was slyly announced with the release of the weekend two schedule. She is slated to perform from 3-3:50 p.m. on Saturday at the Mojave Tent, where Jack White performed during the first weekend of Coachella. His performance was similarly revealed via set time announcement, and the White Stripes frontman essentially kicked off the day with a raucous rock show. Musgraves gave a meme-worthy performance at Coachella in 2019, when she led the crowd in a particularly hilarious call-and-response of “yee” and “haw,” chastising the audience when they shouted back without a prompt. That year, she performed on the main stage between Mon Laferte and Anderson .Paak and the Free Nationals. Popular on Variety The singer recently announced her sixth album “Middle of Nowhere,” which is scheduled to release on May 1. She released the album’s first single “Dry Spell” and music video last month, and the project will include featured guest appearances from Miranda Lambert, Willie Nelson, Billy Strings and Gregory Alan Isakov. Starting with “Golden Hour,” which won the album of the year Grammy in 2018, Musgraves’ albums have taken on more of a folk-pop tinge, though she has never abandoned the country genre she started out with.
