He has been in custody since March 10 after being charged with assault occasioning grievous bodily harm. Barton has pleaded not guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent.Barton has seemingly been using his time to lose some pounds and has also been captaining the football team. The former footballer's 'Common Sense podcast' was recently recorded without him as his co-hosts shed light on his time in prison.The podcast co-host, known as Cambo, said: "He’s losing a bit of weight, he’s playing a bit of footy, keeping himself active. Mean machine. I can tell you a story about Joe, one of my mates, his mate is in jail with him."My mate’s mate was in the library with some of the lads, and he said Joe’s walking the library and said 'boss book there for you lads'. It was his autobiography.
