Jade Goody's widower Jack Tweed is charged with drug-driving

By OLIVIA CHRISTIE, NEWS REPORTER Published: 23:14, 1 August 2026 | Updated: 23:14, 1 August 2026 Big Brother star Jade Goody's widower Jack Tweed has been charged with drug-driving after he allegedly tested three times over the limit for cannabis.  The 39-year-old is said to have been high behind the wheel of a Volkswagen Golf when he was pulled over by police in December last year near Chelmsford, Essex. He was arrested and is now due to appear at Chelmsford magistrates' court on Monday.  Court records seen by The Sun on Sunday show Tweed is facing one count of 'driving a motor vehicle with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the specified limit'. Ms Goody died one month later from cervical cancer Tweed faces up to six months in prison and a mandatory one-year driving ban if found guilty.  According to The Sun's report, a court hearing was initially scheduled for May but was adjourned until next week.  It is understood Tweed, who married Ms Goody in February 2009, was charged in March.  The couple met in 2005, two years before Ms Goody appeared on Celebrity Big Brother in 2007.  She died of cervical cancer at the age of 27 in March 2009.  Tweed – who went on to feature in the reality show The Only Way is Essex – is said to still be close to her sons Bobby and Freddy. An Essex Police spokesman said: 'A man is due to appear in court on Monday charged with a drug-driving offence. 'Jack Tweed, 39, was arrested on Three Mile Hill, Chelmsford, on 6 December. 'He was charged with driving a motor vehicle with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the specified limit.'
