Gazze'de geniş çaplı yıkım yaşandığını belirten Bartov, çok sayıda Filistinlinin öldürülmesinin hem savaş suçu hem de insanlığa karşı suç kapsamına girdiğini vurguladı. Bartov, "İsrail'de soykırım niteliği taşıyan söylemler mevcut. İsrail hükümetinde, ordusunda ve güvenlik yapılarında görev yapan bazı yetkililer, soykırım niteliği taşıyan açıklamalar yapıyor." diye konuştu. Eski ABD Başkanı Joe Biden döneminde Washington yönetiminin Gazze'de yaşananlara müdahale etmediğini aktaran Bartov, İsrail'in Gazze'ye yönelik saldırılarını ABD'nin desteği olmadan devam ettiremeyeceğini söyledi. Bartov, "İsrail, bu ölçekte ve yoğunlukta bir operasyonu ancak ABD'nin sürekli desteğiyle sürdürebilirdi. Silah, ekonomik yardım ve özellikle Birleşmiş Milletler Güvenlik Konseyinde veto gücüyle sağlanan diplomatik koruma bu desteğin temel unsurları." ifadelerini kullandı. İsrail hükümetinin Gazze'deki nüfusu bölgeden çıkarmayı hedeflediğine işaret eden Bartov, bu yaklaşımın etnik temizlikten soykırıma evrildiğini aktardı. "Bazıları, (Gazze hakkında) söylediklerimin doğru olduğunu bildikleri için kendilerini rahatsız hissediyor," şeklinde konuşan Bartov, Gazze'de yaşananları "soykırım" olarak adlandırmak istemeyen bir kesim olduğunu ve yaşananların Yahudi Soykırımı (Holokost) ile ilişkilendirenler bulunduğuna dikkati çekti. Barınakları yok, çadırlarda yaşıyorlar, altyapıları yok ve kimse bu konuda hiçbir şey yapmıyor." dedi. Bartov, Gazze'de varlıklı kesimler için bir tatil bölgesi oluşturulmasının planlandığını, Filistinlilerin bu düzen içinde düşük ücretli temizlik ve hizmet işlerinde görev alan, kalan zamanlarını ise "toplama kamplarını andıran sözde insani yardım merkezlerinde" geçireceği bir model öngörüldüğünü kaydetti. "İsrail: Ne Yanlış Gitti" kitabına dair değerlendirmelerde bulunan Bartov, sorunun temelini bulmak için 1948 yılına kadar geriye gitmek gerektiğine değindi. Bartov, İsrail'in hiçbir zaman bir anayasaya sahip olmaması ve siyonizmin bir devlet ideolojisi haline gelmesinin "yanlış giden şeyler" arasında yer aldığını belirtti. İsrail'in zamanla aşırılıkçılık, militarizm ve ırkçılıktan beslenerek nihayetinde soykırıma varan bir ideolojiye dönüştüğünün altını çizen Bartov, "Bu anlayışı destekleyen herkes, söz konusu siyasi ideolojinin eylemlerine ortak olur." ifadelerini kullandı. Bartov, İsrail'in politikalar üzerindeki etkisi nedeniyle ABD'de hem sağ hem de sol kesimde bu ülkeye verilen desteğe yönelik eleştirilerin arttığını, bu nedenle bazı kesimlerin İsrail'e mesafe koymak istediğini vurguladı. Bu durumun İsrail açısından olumlu olabileceğini söyleyen Bartov, İsrail'in ABD'ye bağımlılığından kurtulması gerektiğini düşündüğünü dile getirdi.
