Israeli strike completely destroys Jewish synagogue in Tehran
المصدر: البوابة | Source: البوابةALBAWABA - Iranian media reported that a Jewish synagogue in the center of Tehran was heavily damaged after an Israeli projectile on Tuesday, according to the semi-official news agency Mehr.
The Israeli army, however, didn't immediately respond to accusations of hitting a synagogue in the Iranian capital.
"In a predictable turn, Israeli strikes early this morning damaged a Jewish synagogue in Tehran," the Consulate General of Iran in Mumbai posted on its X page.
According to data, Iran is home to one of the largest Jewish communities in the Middle East outside Israel. Around 8,000 to 10,000 Jews are living in Iran, primarily in Tehran, Shiraz and Isfahan.
On the other hand, Israel has warned Iranians on Tuesday not to ride any trains and to avoid riding them as tension escalates in the region.
The army wrote on X, "Urgent warning to train users and passengers in Iran. Dear citizens, for your safety, we kindly ask you to refrain from using and traveling by train throughout Iran from now until 9:00 PM Iranian time. Your presence on trains and near railway lines puts your life at risk."
