Israeli Incursions Continue in Quneitra as Raids and Arrests Expand

Israeli army incursions have continued in the Quneitra countryside, amid search operations, raids, arrests, and the establishment of roadblocks on roads.
Israeli forces released two men they had detained from the village of Kudna, in southwestern rural Quneitra, on Tuesday, April 7, after holding them for several hours.
Enab Baladi’s correspondent in Quneitra said an Israeli army patrol entered Kudna at dawn today, in the southwestern countryside of the city, and detained two men, Ali al-Shibli and Yasser Mohammad al-Jaber, taking them into the occupied territory before releasing them later.
The correspondent added that the patrol searched several homes in the village, accompanied by a reconnaissance drone, and frightened residents.
Quneitra Media Directorate said the Israeli army entered the town of Kudna in southern rural Quneitra, searched homes, and abducted a young man from his house in the town at dawn today.
Israeli forces also targeted Tal al-Ahmar al-Sharqi, in southern rural Quneitra, with an artillery shell on the evening of Monday, April 6, while a military force of about 10 vehicles entered the village of al-Ajraf in central rural Quneitra. There, it set up a checkpoint on the main road and carried out searches of several homes, without any arrests being recorded.
An Israeli patrol made up of two vehicles and several soldiers also entered the town of Jubata al-Khashab, in northern rural Quneitra, and raided a home before withdrawing toward its military position inside the Jubata al-Khashab reserve.
Release of a Child
The Israeli army released a child in the village of Ruwayhina, in Quneitra countryside, after detaining him for several hours on April 4.
Enab Baladi’s correspondent in Quneitra had reported at the time that Israeli forces detained the child while he was herding livestock, during a search operation on the village’s main road, and released him several hours later.
The correspondent added that the Israeli army patrol entered the village, set up a checkpoint on the road, and searched passersby and vehicles.
The Israeli army had previously released two children hours after detaining them while they were herding near Tal al-Ahmar al-Gharbi, in the southern countryside, on March 29.
Israel Tightens Restrictions on Quneitra Residents
As part of Israeli movements in Quneitra governorate, the province has in recent days seen the closure of several main and secondary roads in different areas, continuing the restrictive measures imposed by the Israeli army in villages of the buffer zone.
Enab Baladi’s correspondent in Quneitra said the Israeli army closed the road linking the villages of al-Asbah and Kudna in the southern Quneitra countryside. At the same time, it closed the Ruwayhina road leading to farmland west of the village, as well as the Umm al-Azam al-Shouli road in western Quneitra with earth berms.
Qutaiba al-Tahan, from the village of Kudna, told Enab Baladi that Israeli forces closed the main road between Kudna and al-Asbah in the southwestern countryside of Quneitra. Anyone trying to move between the two villages now has to travel an additional 10 kilometers and is forced to pass through the town of Rafid.
Qutaiba added that Israeli forces also closed the Mazraat al-Fityan road between Kudna and al-Asbah, and cut off the two villages from nearby farmland.
In the central countryside, several residents told Enab Baladi that anyone wanting to travel from Rasem al-Shouli to the villages of Umm al-Azam and al-Qahtaniyah now has to cover 15 kilometers, although the actual distance is only one kilometer.
Israeli forces have also closed secondary agricultural roads to tighten restrictions on residents’ movement and limit their mobility, especially given the presence of Israeli military bases around the village of Umm al-Azam.
Israeli forces had previously cut roads and erected fortifications at the same time as mobilization campaigns spread across social media in southern Syria in rejection of a law passed by the Israeli Knesset allowing the execution of Palestinian prisoners.
