The extension was announced at the White House on Thursday, where ambassadors from both countries met for high-level negotiations. Hezbollah was not involved in the talks. But the ceasefire appeared fragile from the start. Hezbollah's latest rocket fire into northern Israel came after an Israeli airstrike killed Lebanese journalist Amal Khalil Wednesday while she was reporting in southern Lebanon. Khalil's death makes her the eighth journalist killed by Israel in Lebanon in the past two months, according to the Committee to Protect Journalists.
