Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan Levy) made quite the discovery in EastEnders last week following her affair with Max Branning (Jake Wood).
The fan-favourite character, as viewers know, has been sleeping with Max, who is engaged to Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins), since June.
The affair commenced in the wake of Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) putting an end to their longterm relationship following his return to the Square.
Priya was devastated and sought solace from Max. Ravi, however, has since made it his mission to win back his soulmate, popping the question to Priya earlier this month.
Priya came to realise that Ravi is indeed the man she wants to be with and thus accepted his proposal. But an unexpected turn of events followed, with Priya’s world turned on its axis as she made a big discovery.
Is Priya pregnant in EastEnders?
Yes, Priya is pregnant in EastEnders. The car saleswoman made the discovery earlier this month and, after feeling unwell all day, she took a pregnancy test to find out for definite.
In emotional scenes, she confided in Jean Slater (Gillian Wright), who offered to go with her when Priya revealed that she’d booked in for a termination.
However, after she supported Penny Branning (Kitty Castledine), who suffered a blood clot and was rushed to hospital during a medical emergency, an emotional Priya reconsidered the termination.
Realising it’s Ravi she wants to spend her life with, Priya said yes to his proposal, desperately hoping that he is the father of her baby.
But is he? Well that is the question.
It is possible that Ravi is the dad as, upon his return from the mental health facility in June, he and Priya slept together. However, they broke up later that evening and, on the very same day, Priya slept with Max, who she’s been having an affair with ever since.
So we’ll just have to wait and see who the father is.
Who plays Priya in EastEnders?
Priya is portrayed by actress Sophie Khan Levy. Prior to landing her role in EastEnders, Sophie appeared in All Creatures Great and Small, The Sixth Commandment and Mammals.
Sophie made her Albert Square debut as Priya in 2023 when Priya and on-screen daughter Avani (Aaliyah James) arrived in the Square, expanding Ravi’s family unit.
And it’s aafe to say that Priya has become one of Walford’s best characters in the years since!
