IRGC threatens strikes on US Tech companies in Gulf

ALBAWABA- The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has issued a direct threat to target and disrupt the regional operations of all American-affiliated Technology companies, declaring that the campaign will begin at 8:00 p.m. Tehran time on April 1.

In a sharply worded statement, the IRGC named around 18 major U.S. firms, including Microsoft, Google, Apple, Tesla, Boeing, Meta, Intel, IBM, Nvidia, and Palantir, as targets across the Gulf and West Asia. 

The Guard framed the action as proportionate retaliation for what it described as “assassination operations” against Iranian leaders and military officials, claiming these firms provide technological and logistical support that has aided U.S. and Israeli strikes.

The threat is part of Iran’s strategy in the conflict, now in its second month with no ceasefire. It aims to exert economic pressure on American commercial interests in the region, where many of the named companies maintain offices, data centers, supply chains, and defense contracts with Gulf states.

Attacks could disrupt technology services, aviation support, and energy operations, further straining global supply lines already affected by the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.

In parallel, Iranian state media unveiled the Oghab 44 (Eagle 44) underground fighter-jet base on Tuesday. Carved deep into mountain rock, the facility is designed to withstand bunker-buster munitions and protect combat aircraft, signaling Tehran’s determination to maintain air capabilities despite sustained U.S.-Israeli strikes. Military spokesmen said the base is fully operational and capable of supporting prolonged defensive missions.

Regional security officials warned that the April 1 deadline could sharply escalate tensions, even as China and Pakistan recently proposed a five-point peace plan to halt hostilities.
