Iran targets 3 ships in Hormuz, rejects reopening it amid US blockade

Iran on Wednesday said reopening the Strait of Hormuz was not possible amid U.S. naval blockade, hours after Iranian forces targeted three container ships, seizing wo and firing on a third, global security monitors and the country's Revolutionary Guards said, the latest incidents to threaten a crucial trade route in the Middle East war. Iran's parliament speaker and top negotiator ⁠Mohammad ⁠Baqer Qalibaf said on Wednesday that ⁠a complete ceasefire only made sense if it was not violated ⁠by ⁠the U.S. blockade of Iranian ports.
