Lachie Perrem, 25, was left with burns to 75 per cent of his body after the devastating accident on Airgate Close at Brabham, in north-east Perth, on Thursday night. He was rushed to Fiona Stanley Hospital in a critical condition and will be required to undergo multiple surgeries, extensive medical treatment and months of rehabilitation.  Video captured the aftermath of the horrifying explosion, showing windows blown out and walls left completely black. The damage stretched from the kitchen to the living room, with furniture completely destroyed, floorboards charred and debris scattered throughout. Mr Perrem had been vacuuming when the device erupted into flames in his kitchen.  A Department of Fire and Emergency Services of Western Australia (DFES)  spokesman said even though there had been four vacuum cleaner fires in two years, this was the first reported incident involving a robot version of the device. Mr Perrem's mother Fiona launched a GoFundMe as the family do everything in their power to help with his recovery. Grim footage has emerged of the devastating damage a robot vacuum made to a home after exploding and leaving a young man fighting for life  'While our focus is on helping him survive and heal, life outside the hospital doesn't stop,' she wrote.  'Bills continue to arrive, and he still has financial commitments, including the repayments on his car.  'We want to ease as much of that burden as possible so that, when he wakes and begins his recovery, he can focus entirely on getting better instead of worrying about losing everything he has worked so hard for.'  Ms Perrem added that the occupants were now left without a home.  'Along with his long road to recovery, they now face the heartbreaking task of rebuilding their lives from scratch,' she said.  'Donations will help with living expenses, housing, and essential costs during this incredibly difficult time.'  The GoFundMe has raised over $20,000 so far.  Mr Perrem's fiancée Bri Thompson said she was struggling to come to terms with what had happened, describing the last few days as 'completely unimaginable'.  Lachie Perrem, 25, was left with burns to 75 per cent of his body after the devastating accident on Airgate Close at Brabham, in north-east Perth , on Thursday night  'Our entire life has changed in a matter of moments, and everything has been incredibly intense and overwhelming,' she said. His family has requested privacy at this time. A (DFES) spokesman said four trucks attended the fire at 5pm on Thursday.    'The fire was extinguished and the area was made safe by 7.15pm,' he said. The DFES has deemed the cause as accidental due to a fault in the robotic vacuum cleaner.  'The device has been sent to the Department of Local Government, Industry Regulation and Safety (LGIRS) for further investigation,' the spokesman said. Daily Mail understands investigators are working out whether the fire was caused by a fault in the lithium-ion battery or electrics in the vacuum.
