Cox / Getty Images Share article2MIAMI — Hot-hitting Atlanta Braves catcher Drake Baldwin landed on the injured list Tuesday with a right oblique strain in a flurry of moves announced by the team ahead of their second game against the Miami Marlins at loanDepot Park. The move comes one day after star outfielder Ronald Acuña Jr. was reinstated following a two-week injured list stint for a hamstring strain. There were no obvious signs Baldwin was hurt, but he was replaced behind the plate by veteran Sandy León in the sixth inning of Monday night’s blowout loss after lining out in the top of the frame. He has hit .303 with 13 home runs and 38 RBIs and a .932 OPS, building off his 2025 National League Rookie of the Year campaign. The Braves called up Chadwick Tromp, who will share catching duties along with León, to replace him on the active roster. The Braves also designated veteran reliever Aaron Bummer for assignment, demoted rookie starter JR Ritchie and and promoted right-hander Victor Mederos from Triple-A Gwinnett. Spot the pattern.
