kaderini tayin etme iradesinin tüm dünyaya ilanı olduğunu belirtti. Zor zamanların, kuşatılmışlıkların ve yoklukların gölgesinde, Halil Kut Paşa komutasındaki kahraman Mehmetçiğin, imkansız denilen şartlar altında tarihe geçen bir destan yazdığını vurgulayan Duran, şunları kaydetti: "Cumhurbaşkanımız Sayın Recep Tayyip Erdoğan'ın ifadeleriyle 'Kut'ül Amare, bu milletin Avrupa ülkeleri tarafından hasta adam olarak ilan edildiği, topraklarının paylaşıldığı, beka mücadelesi verdiği kritik bir dönemde kazandığı abidevi bir zaferdir.' Kut'ül Amare'de elde edilen zafer dış müdahalelere, dayatmalara ve esaret planlarına karşı milletimizin kendi yolunu çizme kararlılığının tarih sahnesindeki en net tezahürlerindendir.
