However, the eye examination uncovered swelling behind his eyes — later diagnosed as grade four medulloblastoma, a highly aggressive form of brain cancer.‌Surgery revealed Teddy, who had only recently started school, had multiple tumours in his brain, which had also spread to his spine. Without treatment, Teddy's family were told the youngster had just six to 12 weeks to live.
