The midfielder has played for the Spanish giants since 2017 and was under the tutelage of the French icon for three years.‌While a bond between the pair was forged after winning the La Liga title and the Champions League, that didn't stop the Uruguay international from fearing his former manager after an unfortunate training accident with his son, Luca.‌The goalkeeper is the second-oldest son of Zidane and currently plays for Granada and the Algeria national team. Luca, 27, came through the academy of Madrid and made two senior appearances for the club before departing in 2020.‌During Valverde's appearance on the podcast 'Terapia Picante', the midfield talisman revealed his fear after injuring Luca, as he said: "I wanted to die, I thought they were going to sack me, I injured Zidane's son."Some goalkeepers have been injured by my shots. Shoulder injuries, especially. I have very skinny legs, I don't know where I get so much strength from," he joked.
