‘I Am Calm’: Hakimi Shrugs Off Trial Referral Over Rape Allegations
المصدر: Morocco World News | Source: Morocco World NewsRabat – Paris Saint-Germain defender Achraf Hakimi said on Monday that he feels “calm” after a court referral over rape allegations, insisting the claim against him is “false” and that he trusts the justice system.
“I know this accusation is false, I am calm. I leave this to my lawyers and the justice system,” Hakimi said at a press conference held ahead of the UEFA Champions League quarter-final second leg against Liverpool.
The Morocco international had not spoken publicly since the court decision.
In February, a judge sent Hakimi to trial over allegations linked to an incident in February 2023 involving a 24-year-old woman.
The case was first raised at a police station in the Val-de-Marne area near Paris, where she stated she had faced rape but did not submit a formal complaint at that stage. A preliminary inquiry began soon after.
Hakimi faced formal legal scrutiny a few days after the initial report. He has consistently denied all claims.
The case now moves before a departmental criminal court in Hauts-de-Seine, with no date set for a hearing.
Hakimi continues his club duties with Paris Saint-Germain as the matter remains before the court.
