Hunter Biden bemoans Joe Rogan defending White House UFC fight, adding 'some public spaces are sacred'

Former President Joe Biden's son, Hunter Biden, pushed back on podcast host Joe Rogan's defense of the UFC White House event, claiming that the White House was a "sacred" space.

During Wednesday's episode of "The Joe Rogan Experience," Rogan called out critics of people who attended the UFC Freedom 250 spectacle on the White House South Lawn in the run-up to America’s 250th anniversary.

"Like they're mad at people for being there," Rogan said. "Like, 'Oh, you support Trump.' Like, it's a f---ing fight at the White House. Doesn't mean you endorse foreign policy. Like, shut the f--- up. Just please. Just please stop."

Though Biden called the event a "once-in-a-lifetime spectacle" that he did not blame anyone for attending, he attacked the event itself and President Donald Trump's alleged attempt to usurp the "People's House."

"My problem is that I believe some of our public spaces are sacred," Biden wrote on Thursday. "And unlike many of the great powers that came before us, these American monuments belong to all of us. Not to whoever happens to hold power at the moment. The White House does not belong to Donald Trump. It does not belong to any President. It belongs to the people."

He continued, "To treat it as Caesar treated the Colosseum is antithetical to everything our founding fathers fought for. This is not Rome. Presidents are not emperors doling out bread and circuses for the peasants. The White House is the People’s House. This ‘celebration’ could have happened in any stadium within a stone’s throw of the South Lawn. No one would have had an issue with it. But that was obviously Donald Trump’s whole point."

Biden clarified that he was not attacking UFC head Dana White, calling the brand "a bona fide American success story," but referred to the event as an "exhibition of imperial domination" by Trump rather than a celebration of the nation.

"The White House is not Buckingham Palace. It is not the Palace of Versailles. It is not the Forbidden City of Beijing. It does not belong to an emperor, or a king, or a commissar," Biden wrote. "The White House belongs to us. All of us. The person who sits behind the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office is nothing more than an honored guest. A temporary caretaker. The President is our servant. Not our Caesar." 

In a comment to Fox News Digital, White House spokesperson Davis Ingle said, "This was one of the greatest and most historic sports events in history, and President Trump hosting it at the White House is a testament to his vision to celebrate America’s monumental 250th anniversary. Anyone who finds a problem with that clearly suffers from a severe and incurable disease known as Trump Derangement Syndrome."

Fox News Digital also reached out to Rogan and UFC for comment but did not immediately receive responses.

Biden's post received backlash from some conservative commentators, reminding him about scandals surrounding the White House under the Biden administration.

"Dear Hunter, Your dad let a transgender flash their fake breasts on the White House Lawn. I don’t think you have any high ground to be offended about this," conservative activist Robby Starbuck wrote.

RedState writer Bonchie wrote, "Hunter Biden lecturing on ethics. Incredible."
