Ekitike appeared in some distress before he was stretchered off and replaced by Mohamed Salah, who started on the bench against the holders again. An major injury Ekitike would be a blow to Liverpool’s hopes of a strong finish to the season, with Arne Slot’s side aiming for Champions League qualification via a top-five finish in the Premier League and hoping to overturn a 2-0 deficit from the first leg against PSG.
