The moment Hollyoaks fans have been waiting for is almost upon us as Lucas Hay (Oscar Curtis) stages his return to the eponymous village – and it’s safe to say he’s on a mission.
Lucas was jailed earlier this year for taking Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson) hostage after he’d uncovered his dad’s affair with his one true love Dillon Ray (Nathaniel Dass).
Despite having cut ties with Lucas, Dillon started to fall for his former flame after they reconnected during prison visits – and they even contemplated going on the run together.
Lucas, however, resolved to stay put and serve out the remainder of his sentence, hoping to turn over a new leaf and start afresh in the wake of everything he’d been through.
And next week, he officially sets foot back in Hollyoaks.
His reasons for returning are directly related to newcomer Xander as he grows determined to stop his new mate from finding out what really happened with dad Martin.
The question is: why?
We’ll just have to wait and see but, later in the week, Lucas shares an emotional reunion with sister Leah (Charlotte Alex Riley).
Things are soon tense, however, as Leah has some questions she wants answered and thus she confronts her sibling. Will she get to the bottom of what’s bothering her?
Lucas certainly has some explaining to do, that’s for sure!
The scenes in question will mark the first shared between stars Oscar and Charlotte. Charlotte, as fans know, took over the role of Leah earlier this year from Ela-May Demircan, who had played the part previously.
Discussing the dynamic between the two characters, star Oscar told Metro: ‘I think it’s nice because it’s reigniting the chemistry between the siblings. That’s important because they’re brother and sister, they’re in the same age range.
‘In the village, they’re quite pivotal characters so it’s nice to explore that bond. Previously they did have scenes together but now we’ve got a lot of scenes. So that’s good!’
Hollyoaks streams Mondays to Wednesdays from 6am on Channel 4’s streaming platform, or catch episodes on TV at 7pm on E4.
