HiPP Organic baby food recall popular product as 'health risk' to some children

A leading baby food manufacturer has recalled a popular product warning it could put some children at risk . Anyone who has bought the product is being told what to do if they are affected. According to a product recall notice issued by the Food Standards Agency, HiPP Organic 7+ months Vegetable Lasagne 190g jar could pose a health risk after a labelling mistake. It said: "HiPP Organic UK is recalling 7+ months Vegetable Lasagne 190g jar because it contains celeriac (celery) which is not emphasised (in bold) on the label. "No other HiPP Organic UK products are known to be affected." It said the affected product is in a pack size of 190g. It has a batch code of B49311 and is best before January 31, 2027. The FSA added: "This product contains celeriac, making it a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to celery." HiPP Organic explained how the mistake happened. It said: "We are recalling our 7+ months Vegetable Lasagne jar due to a labelling error which occurred during the latest artwork print refresh. "The allergen celeriac has not been highlighted in bold within the ingredients list, which makes it a possible health risk for babies with an allergy to celeriac." It advised customers: "If you have bought the above product and your baby has an allergy to celeriac, please do not feed it to them and contact us for reimbursement.
