Agadir – The multinational hospitality company Hilton is accelerating its expansion in Morocco, with plans to open 15 hotels in the coming years, as the country’s tourism sector continues to gain momentum.

“Hilton is on track to more than double its portfolio in Morocco, with plans to open 15 new hotels in destinations across the kingdom,” the company announced, adding that Hilton also recently opened Waldorf Astoria Rabat Salé, marking the luxury brand’s first hotel in the country.”

Following a recent visit to the country, Chris Nassetta, president and CEO of Hilton, pointed to Morocco’s growing importance within the company’s global strategy.

“Morocco is a strategically important market for Hilton, where we plan to more than double our portfolio to 25 hotels in the coming years,” Nassetta said, citing the country’s “rich tradition of hospitality” and increasing appeal among international travelers.

“We see clear opportunities to expand across both established cities and emerging destinations.”

The newly opened Waldorf Astoria Rabat-Sale is located in the Mohammed VI Tower, Morocco’s tallest building.

Hilton is introducing projects in Casablanca and Chefchaouen, both expected to open in 2028.

The Casablanca property, located in the Gauthier district, will feature 90 rooms, while the Chefchaouen hotel will offer 100 rooms.

“This project reflects the ongoing evolution of Morocco’s hospitality market, where increasing focus is being placed on asset positioning, design, and improved operations from the earliest stages of development,” Hilton further explained in a press release.

In Marrakech, Hilton signed a new agreement with the Eden Palm Marrakech project, scheduled to open in 2029. The property will include 62 rooms and a range of wellness-focused amenities in the upscale La Palmeraie district.

Hilton is also expanding into emerging coastal markets, with new projects in Nador and Tetouan. “Hilton is expanding into emerging destinations with new signings in Nador and Tetouan, marking the company’s entry into these fast-growing coastal destinations,” the company said.
