Before, Hannah was homes editor at the Good Housekeeping Institute, where she reviewed hundreds of different products, from mattresses to vacuum cleaners to online florists. Published 15 July 2026 12:00pm BST If you can’t start your day without a fresh cup of coffee, or you carefully select which beans or grounds you use, we want your help. At Telegraph Recommended, we test hundreds of products each year, and we rely on our community members to help verify our experts’ findings. Anyone can join the community, but Telegraph subscribers also have the opportunity to test products for us at home and join our testing days. We currently have an exciting opportunity to test the latest coffee machines on the market. Ben Moss, a barista trainer, and Silvana Franco, Telegraph food writer and Recommended tester, will be hosting a testing day in Shoreditch, London on July 28 and 29. Selected subscribers will be invited to Origin’s Shoreditch training centre and coffee shop, where Ben and Silvana will share what to consider when buying coffee beans and how to make the best coffee at home – as well as answer your questions. The sessions will take place at Origin Coffee in Shoreditch, London Credit: Andrew Crowley for the Telegraph You will then have the chance to test a range of bean-to-cup coffee machines from brands including Gaggia, Sage and Ninja. As our experts do, you will fill in a scorecard and give your verdict, which will then be used in Recommended reviews. As a thank you for taking part, you will also receive a Recommended goodie bag. This is our second reader testing event. Earlier in the year, we welcomed 20 readers to the Telegraph offices to assess the latest cordless vacuum cleaners. Everyone put at least three models through a carefully curated selection of tests to replicate at-home messes. Then, we combined their findings with those of our cleaning professional Sarah-Jane Hoadley to determine which vacuums are worth your money. This process is how we award our Triple-check Guarantee. It’s our most rigorous testing process, which involves the curation of products and protocols by the Telegraph Recommended team, followed by industry expert testing, and finalised with reader verification (that’s you!). If you’re interested in helping us test bean-to-cup coffee machines later this month, join the Telegraph Recommended Community to express your interest. You will also discover other at-home testing opportunities, plus polls and surveys to complete. Any completed activity will earn you points, which turn into vouchers you can spend at high street retailers.
