Martta yıllıklandırılmış cari açığın 39,7 milyar dolar olarak gerçekleştiğine işaret eden Şimşek, "Nisan ayında dış ticaret dengesindeki iyileşmeyle birlikte, yıllık cari açığın belirgin şekilde gerilemesini öngörüyoruz. Mayıs ayında ise uzun bayram tatilinin etkisiyle cari dengede geçici bozulma bekliyoruz. Diğer taraftan savaşın turizm gelirleri üzerindeki etkilerinin sınırlı kaldığını görüyoruz." değerlendirmesinde bulundu. Şimşek, bu yıl enerji ve enerji dışı emtia fiyatlarındaki yüksek seyir nedeniyle cari açığın artacağına değinerek, şunları kaydetti: "Uyguladığımız programla, sağladığımız kazanımlar ve güçlenen makroekonomik temeller sayesinde, bu artışın yönetilebilir seviyelerde kalacağını ve geçici olacağını değerlendiriyoruz. Marttaki 1 milyar dolar doğrudan yabancı yatırım girişi ile yıllıklandırılmış giriş 12,6 milyar dolar oldu. Ülkemizin risk primi CDS savaş öncesi döneme yaklaşırken borç çevirme oranlarındaki yüksek seyir devam ediyor. Meclis'te görüşülen Yatırım Teşvik Paketi'nin, finansman yapısını desteklemesini bekliyoruz. Enerjide dışa bağımlılığı azaltan, katma değerli üretimi ve yeşil dönüşümü destekleyen politikalarımızı sürdürüyoruz."
