Hakimi to Miss PSG Clash Against Nice Due to Suspension
Achraf Hakimi will not be part of the Paris Saint-Germain squad for their Ligue 1 clash against OGC Nice today.
The Moroccan right-back is suspended for this Matchday 27 game following a decision by the Ligue de Football Professionnel disciplinary commission.
The suspension stems from Hakimi accumulating five yellow cards in domestic competitions, triggering an automatic one-match ban. Some reports also indicate that the sanction is linked to the activation of a suspended punishment following an earlier red card this season against Strasbourg.
A reshuffled defense for PSG
Hakimi’s absence is a significant blow for PSG, where he has been the pillar player on the right flank this season. Head coach Luis Enrique is expected to adjust his defensive setup, with Warren Zaïre-Emery likely to step in at right-back for the trip to the Allianz Riviera.
The situation is made more difficult by several other absences. PSG will also be without João Neves, Bradley Barcola, Fabián Ruiz and Quentin Ndjantou, all sidelined due to injuries.
The Nice match is PSG’s last before the international break, and Hakimi is expected to return to action afterward. In the meantime, he will link up with the Morocco national team for the upcoming friendlies, before rejoining his club for the next fixtures.
