Hakimi Confronts Endrick over ‘Provocative’ Celebration in Lyon’s Win Over PSG
المصدر: Morocco World News | Source: Morocco World NewsRabat – Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi has lashed out at the brazilian teenager Luis Endrick for the controversial celebration that he performed after scoring during PSG and Olympic Lyon clash.
Luis Endrick, currently on loan at Lyon from Real Madrid, scored the opener and proceeded to perform a dance for nearly fifteen seconds in front of the Parisian fans.
The gesture prompted Hakimi to confront the teenager on the pitch demanding respect for the home crowd, emphasizing the need for professionalism over antics.
“These things happen in a match. We’re not going to focus on the opposing players. I wanted my team to stay focused and for him to stop doing things aimed at our fans,” Hakimi said.
The former Real Madrid defender acknowledged Endrick’s obvious ability in playing on field, however the celebration crossed lines of professionalism and respect during the clash.
“He should just play football, especially since he’s a talented player. But when he does things that aren’t about football, it can annoy me – especially since we were losing,” Hakimi explained. He suggested that such behavior detracts from the game, particularly during high-stakes moments.
