A grooming gangs campaigner has demanded "more action" from the Government following a new report into the convictions of grooming gang survivors.

Speaking to GB News, Safeguarding Lead for CSE victims, Claire Adams, called on Sir Keir Starmer to show "more political will" when it comes to the nationwide scandal.

A damning new report by Baroness Casey has revealed that children who are groomed, sexually abused and then prosecuted for crimes including prostitution are still being failed.

Baroness Casey says the Government's plans to pardon some victims don't go far enough, and is calling for all wrongful convictions to be reviewed and quashed.

Speaking to GB News about the report, Ms Adams told GB News: "When we look at the likes of Baroness Casey and Maurice Glasman, for an example, they've put the head above the parapet and they've actually had the political will to say there's things that have gone seriously wrong in this Government and in previous Governments.

"What we need to do now is for everyone to be heavily invested so that we can get the convictions for the previous victims, the ones that are still ongoing. What we need to see is more we need to see more from the Government, more political will, and more people to understand that children across this country are being groomed, trafficked, tortured and raped every single day."

She thanked GB News for their work in covering and exposing the crimes of grooming gangs: "I thank GB News, especially Charlie Peters and many of the whistleblowers who have put their heads above the parapet and actually spoke about it.

"And that's all we needed to dom we need to start speaking and move past that difficult conversation."
