Girl, 9, rushed to hospital with 'deep puncture wounds' after vicious dog attack

Detectives are urgently hunting a wanted man after a nine year old girl suffered a horrific dog attack in Birmingham , leaving her with "deep puncture wounds". The young girl was bitten on her leg and arm by the animal on Springthorpe Green in Erdington on November 16 last year. She was rushed to hospital with "deep puncture wounds", police confirmed. West Midlands Police is now desperately seeking Chad Cooper, 33, who is wanted in connection with the savage dog attack. The force revealed it had made several attempts to locate Cooper, who hails from Birmingham, but had been unsuccessful. Officers are now appealing to the public for assistance in tracking him down reports Birmingham Live . A force spokesperson said: "We need your help finding Chad Cooper, aged 33, from Birmingham, after a girl aged nine was attacked by a dog in Birmingham. It happened on Springthorpe Green in Erdington on November 16 last year. "The girl was taken to hospital after she was bitten on her leg and arm, causing deep puncture wounds. We have made a number of attempts to speak to Cooper, and now need the public's help in finding him. "If you see him call 999, quoting 20/445485/25. It comes as dog attacks have nearly doubled since the pandemic with more than three occurring an hour on our streets and in our homes. The figures show an increase in the number of dog attacks since 2020, when 16,040 were recorded, up to 19,762 in 2021, 21,700 in 2022, and 27,000 in 2023. They have been released thanks to exclusive Mirror Freedom of Information requests made to every police force in the country.
