Batuhan Kolak'ın ligdeki sarı-kırmızılı rakiplerle "kritik dönemlerde" oynadıkları müsabakalara atandığını dile getirerek "2 haftada bir aynı hakem. Hatırlatırım, genç hakemimiz iki hafta önce de Ankara'daydı. Eryaman'da kendisini misafir ettik. Genç hakemlerin yetişmesi, tecrübe kazanması, bu sene olmadı ama 4 sene sonraki Dünya Kupası'nda yer alması için elbette böyle önemli maçlarda görev yapmaları gerekiyor. Ancak iki hafta önceki Göztepe maçıyla ilgili anılarımız çok taze ve çok da iyi anılar değil. Galatasaray maçını bir gözümüz hakemde takip edeceğiz. Kendisine başarılar diliyorum. Umut ediyorum ki hakemden iki takımın da şikayetçi olmayacağı bir maç izleriz. VAR'daki hakemlerimiz de teknolojik imkanları futbolu güzelleştirmek için kullanacaktır." değerlendirmelerinde bulundu. Takımın son dönemde yaşadığı sıkıntılara da değinen Çakmak, "Gol yollarındaki eksiklik üzerine bir spor kulübü başkanı taktik anlamda bir şey söylemez, söyleyemez. Ama son maçlarımızı düşündüğümüzde, zaman zaman maçta parlayan ya da parlamaya yakın performanslarımız olduğunda gelen VAR müdahaleleri, penaltı kararları ve bazı anlara sıkışmış kişisel hatalarla goller yedik. Sonrasındaki çaba da skoru değiştirmeye yetmedi. Bunun yapısal değil, kötü tesadüf olduğunu düşünüyorum." diye konuştu. Galatasaray maçının iki takımın ligdeki konumundan bağımsız ayrıca özel anlamlar taşıdığına vurgu yapan Çakmak, "Maçın önemli olduğu şuradan belli; Gençlerbirliği ile Galatasaray 100. karşılaşmasını yapacak. Bu maçtaki ilk golümüz de sarı-kırmızılılara attığımız 100. golümüz olacak. İki köklü camianın karşılaşması bu." ifadelerini kullandı. Karşılaşmaya ilginin büyük olduğunu aktaran Çakmak, "Gerek medyanın hafta boyunca bize gösterdiği alaka gerekse maç biletlerine dair muazzam talep maçın önemini gösteriyor.
