Gençlik ve Spor Bakan Yardımcısı Safa Koçoğlu Gürsoy, yürüyüş öncesinde gazetecilere yaptığı açıklamada, her yıl olduğu gibi bu yıl da gençlerle yürüyüşe katıldıklarını söyledi. Çanakkale'yi ve şehitleri unutmamak ve unutturmamakla sorumlu olduklarını dile getiren Gürsoy, şunları kaydetti: "Biz Çanakkale'yi, şehitlerimizi, bu vatanın nasıl kazanıldığını unutturmamak ve unutmamakla sorumluyuz. O sebeple Türkiye'nin birçok yerinden hatta farklı dünya coğrafyalarından burada genç arkadaşlarımız var. Birlikte bir bilinç inşa ediyoruz burada. Aynı duyguyu binlerce gençle bir arada yaşamayı da çok kıymetli buluyoruz. 57. Alay sadece bir askeri birlik değil, bir inancın, bir cesaretin ve gerekirse canını da ortaya koyarak geri dönmemeyi bize anlatan ve yaşatan bir milli mücadele. Başta Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk ile bütün şehitlerimizi rahmetle ve minnetle anıyoruz. Gençlik ve Spor Bakanlığı olarak Bakanımız Osman Aşkın Bak'ın öncülüğünde ve Cumhurbaşkanı'mız Recep Tayyip Erdoğan'ın liderliğinde gençliğin tarih şuurunu, bayrak bilincini arttırmak adına yıl içerisinde birçok faaliyet yapıyoruz.
