GB's Hewett through in wheelchair singlesImage source, Getty ImagesImage caption, Alfie Hewett reached the Wimbledon wheelchair singles final last yearPublished10 minutes agoBritain's Alfie Hewett is through to a 10th Wimbledon wheelchair singles quarter-final - but compatriot Gordon Reid suffered defeat in the first round.Hewett began his bid for a second SW19 title with a 6-1 6-3 win over Tom Egberink of the Netherlands.Hewett completed the career Grand Slam in singles with his 2024 victory at Wimbledon.He has reached at least the quarter-finals of the singles every year since he made his debut in 2016."It is a privilege to be on these courts and it is certainly something I don't take for granted each year," the 28-year-old said."This is the one tournament where I probably don't have the best sleep, but that's because of excitement and the experiences that I've had here. "Wimbledon is really a standout for me.
