In today's GB News Daily Reflection, we remember the importance of friendship in an increasingly disconnected world.

Meaningful relationships enrich life and suggesting that Jesus Christ’s example encourages people to befriend others, build new connections and rekindle old ones rather than withdrawing from those around them.

“How many of us, especially men, wake up one day and realise we don't have any friends, just work colleagues?

“The secret to having a friend is being a friend. One of my friends was such a good friend to me. He made me a better friend to others.

“Jesus came to make friends with us when he sent his disciples, his friends, out. He told them to look for friends too.

“When we pull the walls up in our lives and become resistant or even hostile to making new friends, especially to those who are different from us, perhaps we miss some of the ways in which God wants to befriend us.

“Maybe there's a new friendship we could make, or an old one we could rekindle. The world is a much richer place when friends are good at making friends.”
