"And that's really quite strange when you think about it. See, we live in one of the most prosperous societies in all of history. We have more of everything, and yet many people remain restless.
"The great Christian thinker Augustine once prayed like this Lord, you have made us for yourself, and our hearts are restless until they find their rest in you.
"Maybe their deepest hunger within us isn't ultimately for pleasure or travel for possessions or success. Perhaps it's God Himself that our hearts are truly hungry for.
"And as we beaver away seeking the next thrill, we're asking temporary things to satisfy an eternal longing. But they were never designed to fill this infinite space.
"Jesus once said, whoever comes to me shall never hunger, and whoever comes to me shall never thirst. Perhaps the reason that nothing in this world fully satisfies us is that our deepest appetite was always meant to lead us beyond this world.
"For the God who made us, and who longs for us to know him."
