GB News Daily Reflection — Thursday 14th May 2026
In today's GB News Daily Reflection, we acknowledge that however strong our faith, waiting is hard, all the more so when the source of our hope is unseen.
"Christian theologians have likened the time of waiting between Jesus's resurrection and his eventual returning to that year, between D-Day and V-E day.
"Easter was a decisive moment, game changing. Yet we still await the day when Christ will return and all will be set right. The gospel stories end with Jesus rising or ascending to heaven.
"It's a moment of departure, normally cause for sadness. And yet we discover Jesus disciples rejoicing. How so?
"Well, simply because he's given them a promise too. In fact, firstly, Jesus is not leaving them alone. Join me next week to hear more about that. Secondly, Jesus promises that he will return. This is not goodbye. But take heart. Hope is on the horizon. Though the sorrow may last for the night. Joy comes in the morning."
