Gary Glitter is charged with historic sex offences against young girl at residential address in London

The disgraced pop star, real name Paul Gadd, 82, is accused of unlawful sexual intercourse with a girl under 13 and three counts of indecent assault on a girl under 14. This is in connection to alleged sexual offences against a child dating back to 1978. The alleged abuse is said to have taken place at a residential address in Kensington, west London. The claims were first reported to the Met in January 2025 and Gadd was first interviewed on July 22.  The alleged victim is currently being supported by specialist officers, and they have been made aware of this update. Gadd will now appear before Westminster Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, August 5. 'But he knows how serious this is and what it could mean for him. He's very down and fears never tasting freedom again. 'He is pretty much on his last legs in jail and this could finish him off. But his alleged victim wants justice before he dies.' Bethan David, Deputy Chief Crown Prosecutor in CPS London said: 'The Crown Prosecution Service has decided to prosecute Paul Gadd with one count of unlawful sexual intercourse with a girl under 13 and three counts of indecent assault on a girl under 14. 'Gadd has today been charged with unlawful sexual intercourse with a girl under 13 and three counts of indecent assault on a girl under 14. This follows allegations made by a woman relating to a period of alleged abuse that took place between 1978 and 1981. 'Our prosecutors have worked to establish that there is sufficient evidence to bring this case to court and that it is in the public interest to do so.
