FUS Rabat Dominates JCA Kings in Commanding Sahara Conference Opening
Rabat – FUS Rabat tipped off Season Six of the BAL Sahara Conference, securing a dominant 63-42 win over Côte d’Ivoire’s JCA Kings on Friday night in Rabat.
The Moroccan side balanced his offensive effort and suffocating defense of the Ivorian side, The game was largely decided in the first half. After a competitive opening where FUS Rabat clamped down defensively, holding JCA Kings to just eight points.
FUS entered the locker room with a commanding 45-21 lead, effectively taking the air out of the Ivorian side’s strategy.
The second quarter was a transition for Coach Said El Bouzidi’s men, outscoring the Kings 25-13, utilizing a 13-2 scoring run below the game opener.
The offensive charge for the Moroccan side was anchored by the clinical duo of Abdelhakim Zouita and Alioune Badara Diarra, who combined to dismantle the Ivorian defense inside the paint.
Zouita shot a clinical 6-of-7 from 2-point range for 13 points while Diarra added 11 points and 4 rebounds. Supplementing this dominance, Harouna Amadou Abdoulaye hit two second-quarter threes to extend the lead, ultimately overshadowing Jonathan Patrick Cisse’s 13 points for the Kings.
With this victory, FUS Rabat sits comfortably at the top of the conference standings, looking to carry one of the fourth finishers in this competition.
