Fury as Scottish Labour and SNP MPs join forces to celebrate England crashing out of the World Cup to Argentina

Scottish politicians took to social media to welcome Argentina's dramatic win over the Three Lions last night. They included the SNP's Lara Bird, who posted a photo of herself with Labour's Euan Stainbank at Parliament in the aftermath of the match. 'Cross party cooperation,' she jibed.  After the final whistle Labour MP Brian Leishman posted an Argentina flag on X with the simple message: 'Phew.' 'My disdain for the embarrassment that is Scottish nationalism was solidified this evening as with embarrassment I watched SNP MPs and staffers sing 'it's coming home' after Argentina scored the winner,' he wrote.  'Home to where? Hampden? No. Just Grow up. It's embarrassing.'  Some Scottish MPs did manage to express solidarity with England. What a tournament they've had.' England had been leading 1-0 when Antony Gordon snuck the ball into the back of the net in the 55th minute. But just when fans were thinking the job was almost done, Argentina staged a late comeback with both Enzo Fernández and Lautaro Martinez scoring goals just seven minutes apart.
