Frank Nazar's puck scare, Sam Lafferty plays D, Arvid Söderblom's season: Blackhawks thoughts

CHICAGO — Getting hit in the face with a puck is rare, but it happens occasionally in an NHL player’s career.Getting hit twice in the same season? Well, that’s a level of misfortune few NHLers ever experience.Chicago Blackhawks center Frank Nazar was struck the first time with a puck in the face Dec. 20 and missed a little more than a month with a broken jaw. So when a puck nailed him again during the second period of Saturday’s game against the St. Louis Blues, it was no surprise that his first reaction was to throw his right glove to the ice as he skated off the ice and went directly to the dressing room. The worst possible outcome had to be going through his head.Nazar may have gotten lucky, though, at least from a long-term injury standpoint.
